Upcoming Schedule

Fall rehearsals have begun!

Joy Ringers/Chancel Choir celebration for Joshua Iannuzzi on Sunday, Oct. 8 following the 11 a.m. service.  Donna and Beverly doing cake, Sue doing punch, Carolyn Rogers willing to help with whatever.   Someone needs to make sure Jim knows about setup requirements.

There will be NO REHEARSAL on Wednesday, October 11.

We will tentatively schedule Sunday, November 5, to play at the 11 a.m. service.   Please let me know ASAP if you are unable to be present on that day.

Prayer Requests and Praise Reports

Shelby, Sue's tutoring student now in kindergarten.

My 8-year-old niece, Zoe Battista, has returned to school after falling out of a tree and fracturing her skull.   No gym or recess for two months!   She's already asking to go to gym class, Mom says No Way!

Mikey Berghoff.

Yvonne (Carolyn and Marilyn's neighbor).

Loved ones and friends dealing with cancer:  George Swartz; Beverly's friend Lisa; Susan Edwards; Melinda's dad, Harold Gettemy; Jason's mom, Pat Iannuzzi.

Rejoice - Tyler, Sue's nephew, has a job.

I'm doing this off the top of my head so have to go home and find the list for others I've forgotten.

Western PA Handbell Festival 2007

The Western PA Handbell Festival will be on Saturday, April 21, 2007, again at Community Methodist in Harrison City.  Please try to reserve the date.  We will follow the same schedule as this past spring, with no classes and having the concert at 4:30.

There are six selections this year, one of which we have already obtained and started on, for Christmas use, an arrangement of We Three Kings.

Our goal is to perform a solo piece this year, which we have also started on, entitled "A Joyful Celebration."   It is written for 2-3 octaves so if we have 9 ringers, we can perform it.

Sandwich Sunday Serenade

We will be looking to present another Sandwich Sunday Serenade again this season, hopefully in January.   By the time I order all festival music, our money will be gone!    We have purchased all of our music the last couple years and paid for our fees and AGEHR membership through this fund, so it will be helpful to replenish it.

New Members

We welcome our new members!   In general, they will be part-timers and will work with us on certain pieces.

The new members are:

  • Kathy Shirey (also a new member of the church; she played handbells in high school and her mother was the director)
  • Laurie Mejia
  • Aaron Mejia
  • Andrew Mejia

On Sunday, September 24, the Beginning Chimes Class, consisting of Laurie, Aaron and Andrew Mejia played at the 11:00 a.m. service and were well received.    Thank you for your persistence and dedication in rehearsing this summer.
